                                       Biography

 

Harold L. Boone, Sr., is Vice President for Minority Business Development and Leadership Programs for the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. He has developed programs for Minority and Women owned Businesses directly resulting in a 64% increase in Minority membership in the Chamber. He implemented the Minority Business Point of Light Award to recognize successful entrepreneurs who have contributed to the community.

 

 He continues to work to strengthen the Leadership Montgomery Program and the Young Professionals Programs, ultimately enhancing diversity through community outreach.  

 

 As former CEO of the Georgia Academy for Children and Youth Professionals, he positioned the academy for the merger with the Georgia State Wide Family Connection Partnership, Inc.  His efforts proved successful for enhancing the outcomes for children, youth, and families. He was featured on ABC News Network Solutions with Peter Jennings on engaging parents and schools for successful outcomes for our youth.

 

Mr. Boone is the recipient of the Association Advance America Award in 2002 and the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Advocate of the Year in 2005. He is a native of Tuskegee, Alabama where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Masters in Education and in Personnel Administration at Tuskegee Institute.
